    J.I. “Banjo” Robins

    We Celebrate the Life of:

    Banjo Robins age 82 of Mount Ida who went to be with the Good Lord on Thursday April 3rd 2014.
    He was born on September 1, 1931, the son of the late Frank and Annie Robins. He grew up in the Owley community, just south of Mount Ida and attended school at Mount Ida. After school

    He was proud to have served 4 years in the United States Navy aboard the USS Everglades, during
    The Korean War. After serving in the Navy, Banjo worked many years self employed at Robins Mining
    Company and was co Owner of the Circle R Restaurant, but his greatest place to work and spend his
    time was on his farm in the Owley community. He loved to fish in the ponds, hunt, work cows and
    he rode his four wheeler through the trails almost every day. His second favorite place to be was
    at the Twin Creeks Recreation area, camping in his bus and spending time with his kids and grandkids.
    He was the champ at putting out trotlines and catching the most catfish with his secret bait.

    He is survived by his son, James Irel Robins JR. “fuzz” and 2 daughters, Carolyn Lou Minton and Husband David, Donna Dale Bolin and husband Bryan, 2 Grandsons Casey Dale Minton and wife Crissy , Cody Bolin –Who had a special place in paw paws heart. 1 great grandson Lyndal Minton, 1 great granddaughter Laney Minton and 1 Sister Mary Dell Talley. Many nieces and nephews and friends who he loved dearly.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Annie Robins, brothers, Earl Robbins, Carl Robins, MearlRobins, Dale Robins and 1 grandson Tyler Bolin.

    Pallbearers will be David Minton, Bryan Bolin, James Earl Jones, Bobby Jones, Brooks Robins
    Honorary Pallbearers will be Casey Minton Cody Bolin and the Staff from the VA Hospital who took
    Amazing care of Mr Robins for the past 3 weeks. He referred to them as angels.

    Visitation will be Monday April 7 from 4 to 8 PM at the Thornton Funeral Home. Services will be
    Held at Faith Tabernacle church on Tuesday @ 2 PM. Interment will be at the Owley cemetery after
